Announced at IBC, Cooke’s miniS4/i range will now include 40mm and 65mm focal lengths.  With low weight and compact design, these  lenses with prove to be useful for handheld work, they are economical, and at T2.8 will pair well with current digital cameras.

James Chressanthis ASC, cinematographer, ‘The Client List’, comments on the miniS4/i range, “The Cooke miniS4/i lenses share the same beautiful ‘Cooke Look’ of the larger S4s, I admire their balanced colour and smooth contrast. They’re sharp and give a real clarity, yet they are never brutal. They bring a consistent warmth to the colour which is natural and close to what the human eye sees. They’re great with today’s fast digital cameras and since they are extremely lightweight and compact, they’re ideal for handheld work and tight spots.”

The Cine Xenar III line from Schneider Optics is an exciting addition to the Schneider family of primes. The CX3 are a rather affordable option for for those looking for sharp imaging, mellow tones, rugged build quality. The mark 3 design is pretty much identical to the previous models except for a constant volume feature on all the lenses.  This keeps the start position identical and keeps the external barrel from moving while pulling focus. Below is a short feature on the CX3 line  Schneider Optics on vimeo or check out there website for more information on these new lenses.
